NEXT WORKSHOP
Sisyphus – the End of the Struggle
12th-13th January 10.30am-5.30pm
Helios Centre, 116 Judd street, London WC1
  • Are there things in your life that feel a bit like Sisyphus’s stone?
  • Are you battling with shyness or introversion?
  • Is there an urge within you to express your creativity and yet creativity seems a luxury in comparison to the other problems in your life?
  • Do you feel weighed down with emotions, and fear that if you begin to let them out your life will fall apart?
  • Or do you have financial burdens, or responsibilities to people in your life, or feel that you never have enough time to do all the things you want?
In the myth of Sisyphus, Sisyphus is doomed to roll a very large stone up a hill. It requires a huge amount of effort and at the end of the day his strength gives way and so the stone rolls down the hill, leaving Sisyphus no choice but to start the process all over again the next day.
And so it goes on… day in and day out. Little does Sisyphus know how close he was to getting to the top, and to the end of his toil.
Many of us can relate to this story, and many of us repeat this pattern endlessly throughout our lives. We struggle and struggle and then give up, little knowing how close we were to achieving victory. We applied our logical minds to the problem, believing like Sisyphus that this is the only way .
If you’re anything like me, however determined and persistent you might be, the effect of living with the struggle gets us into a mind set that just perpetuates the situation and ultimately is deeply demoralising.
The truth is Sisyphus does not have the physical strength to roll the stone all the way up the hill, and to keep on and on rolling it day in and day out is draining his life energy and his potential to change the situation.
This weekend workshop is an opportunity to explore Sisyphus’s story through creativity and self expression and symbolically break the pattern and mindset that keeps us struggling – maybe forever. An opportunity too to turn struggle into life-giving opportunity and set free your passion and joy of being alive. A safe haven where you will be totally accepted for who you are.
Cost £120

Creative Healing Sessions
These one to one sessions are a unique way of working with an issue, working through the body, the imagination, and creativity that is fun, potent and incredibly effective. It is common that only one session is needed to transform a situation that the individual has been wrestling with for many years. It is potent because it works through creativity – the language of dreams and the unconscious – and thus transformation can take place at a deep level without the usual accompanying stress or pain. Often after a session people can literally feel the energy shifting in the body, and it common that magical things start to happen in the form of synchronous events, opportunities, and people which shifts the situation beyond recognition.
Common issues that have been successfully worked with:
feeling of being stuck
buried/unexpressed emotion
emotional blocks
creative blocks
fear of moving forward
performance anxiety
lack of confidence or self esteem
obsessions/addictions (particularly in relationships)
£45 per session

Run by Claire Schrader  S.R.A.T. (DRAMA)  dramatherapist, playwright and director of Making Moves.  See www.makingmoves.net for details of her approach

Drama is a powerful medium. To work safely and supportively with drama requires the practitioner to hold the space, in order to avoid the pitfalls and potential dangers that the unaware can fall into. Holding the Space is perhaps the most important aspect of Making Moves groups and workshops, in providing a safe container through which people can liberate themselves from their inner restrictions through self expression and creativity.

You will learn:

  •  How to create a safe space for participants of your groups and workshops

  • How to structure sessions and create safe boundaries for drama

  • How to hold the space so that your participants can liberate what is inside them

  •  The principles that underlie the healing effects of this approach

  • Tools and techniques for facilitating potent change through working with creativity, mythology, archetype and metaphor

  • Working safely with the “shadow”

  • Tools in developing your intuition and following gut instincts

  • 4 weekends, 15 conference call telephone sessions, 3 one to one sessions

  •  The four training weekends will be practical and experiential in and in which you will have an opportunity to hone and develop your facilitating skills and receive supportive feedback.

  • The telephone conference call will cover the theory that underpins practice along with supervision of practice groups and workshops and support in all aspects of running sessions for normal adults

  • Marketing techniques and resources for building a successful practice

  • You will be able to advertise your groups/workshops through the Making Moves Website (for a small annual fee)

Summer Workshops

Phoenix Workshop

· Are you drawn or fascinated by the image of the Phoenix?

· Are you going through major transition or change or seeking to make changes?

· Do you long to express your fiery, creative spirit?

· Is it time to get out of a rut and discover your unlived potential?

· Has death touched your life and you want to find an uplifting way to come to terms with that?

According to Egyptian mythology the Phoneix is a a sacred, mythical bird. At the end of its life-cycle the Phoenix builds itself a nest that it then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix arises. A symbol of immortality, resurrection and life after death.

In this two day workshop we will be exploring the relevance of the myth to us personally, and to celebrate transformation and transition. It will be an opportunity for you to ignite the aspects of your life that need to be released in order for your new inner Phoenix to rise out of the ashes, transformed.

Shyness – The Way Out

Do you experience shyness is some form? Maybe it’s not shyness you feel, but a lack of confidence, a reticence in putting yourself forward, or letting yourself be seen and your voice heard. This is experienced by many, so be assured you are not alone. Many people experience this in some degree.

There is certainly a way out. I got out myself, so I know it can be done, and I have helped countless people to break out of their box and to make their bid for freedom.

The purpose of the free mini e-book thus is to:

· Give a deeper understanding and insight into the causes of shyness

· Describe my own journey with shyness and how I broke out

· Demonstrate the ways in which shyness has been overcome through personal stories of people who combated shyness

· Provide tools and resources that will put you on a track to finding your way out

· How and why drama is the fastest and most effective way of overcoming shyness.

To receive a free copy of this book please email me by clicking this link below and requesting a copy of the e-book, which will also subscribe you to my free e-newsletter.
